Our pricing policy at Antique RETROVILLE ANTIC
Unlike the majority of antique dealers and importers, we neither want nor need to gross up our prices by anywhere from 300 to 500%, just so we can magnanimously extend a 50% discount later.
Such deceitful practices obscure the intrinsic value of antiques and diminish the credibility of the trade.
How can our prices be so low?
Born and raised in South West France, a wine region, I grew up under warm sunshine, among lush vines and in old stone houses which, need I say were chock full of antiques!
Naturally, I´ve gained the trust of people in that region. Not only am I from there, but I also speak their language: old Occitan.
Most antique dealers and importers make use of extensive specialized networks of middlemen, showroom sales and estate clearing houses. The way my operation works, on the other hand, is that I make use of my contacts to buy directly at source from real people in the open countryside—from my countrymen and my friends.
That´s the whole difference!
